Fyodor Trestoyevsky - "Job Opportunities in Transhumanism"

Date and Time: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm MST

Location: Presidio Room, 4th Floor, Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., Tucson, AZ, USA 85721-0017 | Google Maps

Description: Fyodor Trestoyevsky is a Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) senior at the University of Arizona who also works as a geneticist at the Arizona Cancer Center. His main and current long-term goal is to help develop a real cure for the disease called aging, probably through SENS-derived therapies informed by systems biology and assisted by medical nanotech. When that is all taken care of, he wants to explore the mysteries of phenomenal consciousness and the neural correlates of imagination. Fyodor Trestoyevsky likes to think about transhumanism and immortalism in terms of awe, wonder, compassion, social justice, and the end of fear, horror, and suffering. He is ever so slightly quixotic.
