About

Welcome to h+, formerly a network of local clubs participating in the global transhumanist movement:

The name of the organization was based on "H+", a symbol that means transhumanism and "humans plus". The lowercase "h+" was meant to signify "individual", "small", and "local".

The development of h+ began in the summer of 2006 with the formation of our first transhumanist club, now called h+ Tucson, at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. By the end of 2007 a second chapter was planned for Phoenix and we began developing h+ as an affiliation of local clubs. The plan for h+ was outlined in the "h+ Information Architecture" document, now available to the public for review at http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgxxsd9p_98gzb5sk. We officially launched the newly updated h+ website on December 26, 2007 and made improvements and added new content throughout 2008.

At the beginning of 2009 h+ stopped accepting new chapters and further development of the h+ website.

Acknowledgments

The latest version of the h+ website, launched in beta form on December 26, 2007, would not have been possible without the contribution from many people who reviewed our original ideas and concept art. A big "Thank you!" to the following people for feedback, advice, and/or encouragement (and I apologize if I have missed anyone else who contributed valuable feedback.)

I also want to thank the following people and organizations for providing materials for the introductory packets we we mailed out to new h+ Chapters:

Images and Graphics

H+ greatly appreciates and acknowledges the following rights holders who courteously gave us permission to make use of their images and graphics in our own website designs. Thank you!
